In this weekend, we celebrated Chinese New Year together. I’m moved by too many things and I really want to say thanks to those who have helped me. I appreciate their kindness very much.
I had intended to go to Boston again for Spring Festival celebration. But I have to cancel this trip because there are a lot of things for me to do. So I just stayed on campus. Xiaoming, from our department, held a party on New Year’s Eve at her apartment. She cooked a lot of authentic Chinese food and I really like them very very much. Xinping made Tiramisu herself. It’s really yummy! In addition, we also made some dumplings, which is, of course, a necessity for Chinese New Year. We got togehter, talked and forgot the homesickness temporarily. Although this is the first Spring festival when I was away from my family, I didn’t fell alone. Because the Chinese students here are like a big family and we really had a lot of fun.
I was more deeply touched in the afternoon of Spring Festival. I got a call from my cousin at 1pm and he told me that he would like to visit me from Boston immediately. What’s more, my aunt made a lot of dumplings and Chinese bread and he would like to take them to me. I didn’t expect he would come and I was so touched that my tears almost went out. They are really very kind, very nice to me. They wanted me to go to Boston to spend the weekend with them since they’re afraid that I would be very lonely. I’m sure they, especially my aunt, were very disappointed that I didn’t make it. Still, they brought food to me to show their care and love for me.
I don’t know what I should do to repay to the family members and friends who have helped me a lot both in the past and present. I could only pray that God bless them and may their cup run over! Also God bless China, my motherland, forever!
